From Iowa to Texas
Texas is a nice combination of good food, good climate, liberal laws, and advanced technology, and more!
The bulk of the state’s economy is in the technology sector, mainly in the fields of space travel and medicine. Texas has the second-highest GDP in the US of more than $1.9 trillion. The state is rich in natural resources, most notably oil. Tourism and higher education also contribute to a well rounded economy.
The largest employers are the University of Texas At Austin, MD Anderson Cancer Ctr, and MD Anderson.
The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center is a major tech hub. It is NASA’s main center for manned spaceflight, and the place of origins of the famous phrase “Houston, we have a problem!”
Texas Medical Center
This is the largest cluster of healthcare institutions in the world. The Texas Medical Center has more than 100k employees, 10 million patients annually, and a GDP of US$25 billion.

It has more than 47.000 students and provides the above-mentioned institutions with the best young people in their respective fields. It is classified as “R1: Doctoral University-Very High Research Activity”. The U of H 282 degree programs through its 14 academic colleges and professional degrees.
Texas Identity
Texas is world-renowned for its liberal policies. Houston is home to several large communities, such as African American, Hispanic, and Asian communities. One of the largest LGBTQ communities in the world is at peace with one of the largest Christian communities in the United States.
Traffic jams are one of Huston’s biggest problems, but that is only if you live in the big cities, which is basically a reality of every big city nowadays. Due to its hot and humid weather, Huston is a huge breeding ground for mosquitos, but come on, is that really true? And due to its proximity to the ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, Huston is prone to floods and hurricanes.
And a last one we will mention is the fact that Texas has no state income tax. This makes up for a sale tax of 8.25%, which is on the high end of the country.
