The Capital of the United States of America. It is not a city though, it is a federally designated district that is not part of any state. Maryland and Virginia donated land and The Residence Act was signed on July 16th 1790. The district has a very special feel to it mostly because of its functions as a capital where all the power is concentrated. Some say it has a European feel as well as very well rounded capitalist spirit. This would certainly account for the distinct feel and atmosphere. It is certainly a city / district worth exploring. The rich history and power lines rooted there make it worth visiting and studying.
