Indiana’s GDP is close to 400 billion U.S. dollars. Indianapolis contributed approximately $140. Traditional industries include finance, insurance, real estate, leasing and leasing.
Indianapolis is a culturally rich city, most prominent in the visual, performing arts and literature.
Still Indiana has its disadvantages
There are a few cons of living in this calm, yet lively place.

Texas has been the place to be for many years and millions of people, for a long time! Warm climate due to the state’s proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, tasty food, if you have a thing for Tex – Mex dishes, a growing tech community, and a liberal, society!
Urban Landscape
Space City, HOU, Bayou City, H-Town, and Hustle-Town, you name it! Huston is the largest city in the state with population of more than 2.3 million. Huston is the main part of the Texas Triangle, or “Texplex”, including the cities of Houston, the second-largest city San Antonio, the state capital Austin, and Dallas-Fort Worth.
Economics and Space tech
The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center is one of NASA’s main centers. You’re probably familiar with the popular phrase “Houston, we have a problem!” This is NASA’s center for human spaceflight and a global center for astronauts and aerospace engineers.
Texas Medical Center
The Texas Medical Center is considered the largest concentration of healthcare institutions. It has over 100.000 employees, hosts more than 10 million patients every year, and has a GDP of US$25 billion.
Education
The University of Houston (U of H) is one of the leading research universities in the United States. With more than 47.000 students it supplies the aforementioned institutions with some of the finest young minds in their respective fields. It is classified among “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity”. The U of H 282 degree programs through its 14 academic colleges and professional degrees.
Identity
Texas is globally known for its liberal policies. Houston is home of several large communities, like an African – American, Hispanic, and Asian communities. One of the largest LGBTQ communities in the world lives in peace with one of the largest Christian communities in the US.
Some negatives, Houston mainly
- Traffic jams are one of Houston’s biggest problems. Commuters in Houston spend more time on the road than most Americans.
- Due to its hot and humid weather, Houston is a huge breeding ground for mosquitos.
- And due to its proximity to the ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, Houston is prone to floods and hurricanes.
Houston and Indianapolis head to head
Besides the climate, there are several other major differences. Putting the sheer difference in population aside (2 million vs. 850k), the two cities do share some similarities. The median income is a bit higher in Texas, and so is the average home price. However, housing, groceries, healthcare, and transportation are way cheaper in Indiana.
